Child treatments at Anuj Children Hospital

Care for children from birth to 18 years in Vadodara: everyday illness, newborn care, vaccination, and admission when needed.

Get medical help immediately if your child

  • is breathing fast or with difficulty, or the chest pulls in with each breath
  • has a fit (seizure), or is unusually drowsy or hard to wake
  • cannot drink or breastfeed, or vomits everything
  • is under 3 months old with a temperature of 38°C (100.4°F) or more
  • has signs of dehydration: no urine for 6–8 hours, a very dry mouth, no tears
  • has a rash that does not fade when you press a glass against it

During OPD hours call +91 94298 08410 or +91 94283 83053 and come straight in. Outside OPD hours, go to the nearest hospital emergency department.

Fever and infections

Most fevers in children are viral and settle with rest and fluids, but some need tests and treatment. Dr. Kodnani examines your child, decides whether tests are needed, and explains what to watch for at home.

  • Viral fever and flu
  • Typhoid, dengue and malaria
  • Ear, throat and urine infections
  • Fever with rash

Cough, cold and breathing problems

Breathing problems can change quickly in small children. Fast breathing, noisy breathing or a chest that pulls in should be checked the same day.

  • Cold and cough that is not settling
  • Wheezing and childhood asthma
  • Bronchiolitis in babies
  • Pneumonia, with admission if needed

Newborn and infant care

The first months bring a lot of questions. Bring them all — nothing is too small to ask.

  • First check-up after birth
  • Newborn jaundice
  • Feeding, burping and weight gain
  • Crying, sleep and stool worries

Vaccination

Routine and optional vaccines are given following the Indian Academy of Pediatrics schedule, after a quick check that your child is well enough on the day.

  • Birth to 18 months primary vaccines
  • Booster doses at 4–6 years
  • Flu vaccine every year from 6 months
  • HPV and Tdap for older children

Stomach upsets and dehydration

Loose motions and vomiting are common, but small children lose fluid fast. We check for dehydration and give IV fluids if needed.

  • Loose motions and vomiting
  • Stomach pain
  • Signs of dehydration
  • Worms and food-related illness

Growth and nutrition

Regular height and weight checks show whether your child is growing well. We also help with picky eating and poor appetite.

  • Height and weight tracking
  • Poor appetite and fussy eating
  • Anaemia and vitamin deficiencies
  • Developmental milestones

Skin problems and allergies

Rashes and itching are common in children and usually easy to treat once the cause is clear.

  • Rashes and heat rash
  • Eczema and dry skin
  • Allergic reactions and hives
  • Scabies and fungal infections

Admission (indoor care)

When a child needs more than medicine at home — IV fluids, nebulisation or observation — they can be admitted with a parent staying alongside.

  • IV fluids for dehydration
  • Nebulisation for breathing difficulty
  • Monitoring during high fever
  • Treatment of pneumonia
